A St. Louis Missouri native with a B.A. in painting from Webster University, Genevieve paints in acrylics and mixed media. She is an award winning artist and her work is collected locally and internationally. Esson has completed 6 public art projects. The latest: She painted four 4' high cake sculptures for the 250th birthday celebration of St. Louis: Cakeway To The West. Another recent public art project in 2013 was a painted fiberglass dog statue for the Hanley & Harry Project for the Animal Protective Association's 90 Year Birthday Bash. You may view her dog 'Hunt For The Unicorn On A Full Moon' here: The Hanley & Harry Project Twenty artists were selected to paint 10 dogs and 10 cats sculpted by St. Louis artist Harry Weber. The project was launched in June 2013 to help raise money for the APA. Each dog and cat was auctioned off to the highest bidder. Esson's dog was bought by Parkcrest Plastic Surgery in Creve Coeur. It resides in their place of business. Another public art project was an eco-mural for Metro Bus Arts In Transit in St. Louis, sponsored by Missouri Botanical Garden and Ameren Missouri, completed September, 2011. Genevieve was one of 54 artists selected to paint a larger-than-life butterfly statue for Wings In The City, sponsored by Barnes Jewish Childrens Hospital and Palliative Care. Her butterfly, 'Le Milieu Mode' was bought by Dierbergs Family Markets. It is now on permanent display at their corporate headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri. She has also painted a life-sized lion statue for University City In Bloom. This lion statue was dedicated November 26, 2011 and was installed at Heman Park in University City: University City In Bloom Garden Tour Slide Show
